The Problem Isn’t Your Location—It’s What You Don’t See

Ever feel like something just isn’t quite right in your life, even though you can’t put your finger on it? Whether it’s your career, relationships, or general sense of fulfillment, it’s as if you’re walking through life slightly out of sync. You might have tried self-help books, counting your blessings, or even relocating—yet that elusive sense of ‘alignment’ still feels just out of reach.

If that sounds familiar, I hear you! I’ve been there too, and today I want to share what I’ve learned through the process. Sometimes, we feel stuck because we lack clarity. Other times, we might think we know what the problem is—lack of time, money, a relationship, you name it. Maybe you’ve reached your big long-term goal and found yourself at the top of the stairs, only to realize it wasn’t the right staircase for you. Or perhaps you’ve recently gone through a major transition, like becoming a parent, and now you don’t quite recognize who you are anymore.

The Real Issue: Lack of Awareness

Things started to change for me when I began diving into the more subtle layers of my reality. For me, it was through therapy and studying Astrocartography! And by the way, as you can read here, I actually started diving into this field to help myself. That’s why I’m such a big fan of it, I’ve tested it myself. You see, the problem isn’t just the circumstances, your mindset, or even your location—it’s a lack of awareness about how all these factors are interconnected. Many of us go through life trying to make things work without understanding the subtle energies at play, both within us and around us. Without this awareness, it’s easy to feel stuck, unfulfilled, or disconnected.

Why This Lack of Awareness Matters

When we aren’t fully aware of how different environments impact us energetically, we end up feeling helpless, living out the lower vibrations of these energies. The frustration lies in trying to fix surface-level issues without addressing the root cause: understanding who we become when we move to another place.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” - Carl G. Jung

Your relocated birth chart is perfect as it is. We may disagree on this, but I truly believe our soul has chosen the best possible moment and place for us to be born, based on the experiences we need for our evolution.

If you’ve read other articles by me, you know I’m all about astrocartography as an empowering tool! The challenges you perceive as being caused by your natal placements highlight areas that haven’t been fully integrated. I don’t want you to feel guilty about this. Everyone faces challenges—that’s part of being human. What empowers you is how you navigate life despite these challenges and stay committed to being yourself.

Story Time: My Astrocartography Journey

I found myself fighting with my reality, looking for a solution to live without issues, and feeling inadequate because of my inability to overcome my struggles. Not only was this mindset unhelpful, but it also made me feel guilty about what was happening in my life. I knew I was the problem, yet I didn’t know how to make things better. I felt stuck.

Today, I honor this dark night of the soul, knowing it was a call to deepen my roots before I could truly bloom. The void in my soul pushed me to choose differently—not before trying many times and getting frustrated with the lack of results. I chose to change my beliefs, as I would discard clothes that no longer fit. I chose to believe that every experience, every planet and aspect of my chart, and the place I now call home are teachers.

In my own journey, I discovered that relocating to a city aligned with my Moon-Jupiter lines brought a profound shift in my domestic and emotional life. For years, I was overly concerned with status, took things for granted, and lived out the lower vibrations of these planetary influences. Once I became aware of these archetypes and how I was living them, I was able to choose a different path. I started to honor my Moon and Jupiter by listening to my feelings and seeking my truth. This personal experience highlights the significant role that understanding your astrocartography can play in aligning your life with your true potential and fostering a sense of fulfillment that comes from the inside.

Gaining Awareness of Your Reality

Astrocartography isn’t just about finding the ‘perfect place’ nor about blaming your current location—it’s about gaining awareness of how your unique energy interacts with different places around the world. The real issue isn’t really where you are; it’s understanding what parts of you are trying to come to light. By becoming more aware of these dynamics, you open yourself up to living in greater alignment, no matter where you are. Astrocartography offers a way to step out of the fog and start making choices that truly resonate with who you are on a deeper level.

By mapping your astrological chart onto the globe, you can see which locations are more likely to support your growth, relationships, and purpose—and which ones might present challenges. It’s a tool that helps you make more conscious choices about where you live, work, and travel. Even if relocation is not an option, it offers you the possibility to use the insights to become the protagonist of your life.

Learning about the archetypes of your relocated chart is a great way to start. Just keep in mind every planet has its lower and higher vibrations… and they are ultimately all parts of yourself. Journaling can also be a helpful habit to get out of your head. And of course, if you need a hand, I would be honored to be your guide on this journey as a certified astrocartographer with Continuum, Jim Lewis’ foundation.
